LockMeBaby Editor's Review

LockMeBaby is a GUI for the command chflags uchg/nouchg.

The name of the program has some adult site connotations, but in fact is a useful tool. Instead of working your hands off with the Terminal, you can lock/unlock your files/folders pretty easily.

By default the application runs in the safe mode, meaning that you can only lock/unlock files/folders from your home folder. If you want to go a little deeper inside your Mac OS, then disable the safe mode from the application's 'Preferences' panel.

Without the safe mode you can browse your root partition and make changes to other files/folders. You have to be careful though. Changing attributes in the wrong place may harm your operating system.

The locking/unlocking was easy, because the interface is well structured. Since is just a GUI for a Terminal command, it's very simple and its functionality isn't very complex.

Pluses: is a well implemented GUI for the chflags uchg/nouchg command. It features a safe mode behavior where you can change only your files/folders that can be found within your home directory.

Drawbacks / flaws:

In conclusion: the application is donationware so you can pay for it only if you want to support the developer. It's worth at least to try it.
